Credit cards @ the drive-thru

Ok, so I went to Schlotzsky's for lunch. I went through the drive-thru because I didn't want to eat inside and the cashiers aren't that hot. Anyways, I order and I'm about to pay and receive my food and the woman in front of me is using her credit card to pay. My first thought was "wtf, who does that?" 😕

So I am asking the great minds of ATOT, have any of you ever used a credit card at a drive-thru?

I wouldn't even think of doing that, it makes no sense to me.

nope. defeats the purpose of a drive-thru imo. drive-thru's are supposed to be convenient and quick (heh, sometimes who am i kiddin'). but seriously, i dont feel like waiting because someone's card is rejected or has nsf's. just a lil pet peeve of mine. but i rank it up there with someone who cuts you off to get in the drive-thru first, and then not even know what they want.

they could just put one of those credit card swiper devices on the outside so you woulnd't have to wait 🙂

I've been using debit since '00 for fast food (which, at the time, many places wouldn't accept). Now more and more places accept credit as well, so now I mainly use a rewards card (seems like every place I go to other than McD and Taco Bell take credit now).

What worries me is that a lot of places will take the credit card w/o a signature or any ID (even Starbucks does this now).

and if they dont have enough money, do they have to pull forward and leave and the next person who had to wait and be inconvienced gets that persons meal free? if that happens, then yes, i would wholeheartedly support credit cards at the atm.

a giant concrete slab drops from the room and flattens them

then you just drive up and get your order 🙂

McD takes credit now, or at least they do around here. They just started to recently. And at McD, they do require a signature if it's over $10 or something like that.

I do it all the time at Jack In The Crack. Very convenient since I don't have to deal with cash and just use my Visa check card instead.

Taco Bell, Jack in the box, mcdonalds, and burger king are the ones I know of that take credit cards at the drive-thru.
