who plays this when going out with friends?

I understand this to be like an I-Banker thing, but it seems I have too many friends who know I-Bankers or work in finance or accounting or consulting, but it seems like all those type-A personality people who work hard and play hard love playing this.

I guess I'm just ranting because I've lost 3 out of the last 5 games, and I'm the guy who's quit work to go back to school, so I'm the guy digging into savings to play this game. Damn. It's times like these I get jealous of my friends still making money while I'm slaving to try to get out of school ASAP so I can keep up with their spending.

Anyway, if you keep playing in the long run you should even out anyway right? As long as you're playing with the same people, which is usually hte case.

I've played it a couple times. Only when out with the best of friends, and the bill is <$100. That way losing doesn't really ruin anyone's night, but winning makes it much better.

Played it a couple of times, usually with a group of about 10. We chose about 3 CCs out of the 10. I never got picked. Last time, I opted out and just paid my share. The unemployed guy ended up getting picked, lol.

If it's anything like chat roulette does it mean there are penises all over the place? ;)

Unemployed, going out dinning with friends, & playing baller game doesn't compute.

your friends kinda sound like douchebags if they're letting the unemployed guy going to school pay their bills.

sometimes we do communist dining (bill gets divided evenly between all parties regardless of who ordered what) but that's it.

Do you not see a problem with digging into your savings to play a game like that? You need to watch out for #1, man. Long before I would try to "keep up with their spending" I would be telling them that for the time being I need to watch my spending, and after that conversation I doubt I would have to pay for much of anything when we go out. You shouldn't be playing that game and they shouldn't be expecting you to.

That's crazy.

I guess I tend to manage my money a little more when I'm on the low side of life. I dont give a damn about appearances and I surely am not trying to show off to anyone. I'd tell them I'll cover my portion and let them play their fancy games.

If it's truly random, you'll even out so long as you are playing with the same # of people and the amount of the bill is the same each time.

I've seen people play it but I think it's stupid. I usually pay for what I ordered plus tax and tip. Sometimes if everyone ordered stuff that was within 2-3 bucks of each other we'll just split it up evenly. Or if you go for something like pizza and beer it gets split up evenly.

Sounds like a stupid game that some broke college student came up with in an attempt to play the odds and get his buddies to cover his tab for him.

My friends and I either split the bill evenly or we all cover our own expenses. It depends on where we are and what was ordered. I'm not covering your shrimp cocktail app, lobster and filet mignon surf-n-turf dinner, and grey goose martinis if I had a salad, pasta dish, and an inexpensive bottle of wine.

It sorta make sense to play if your meal was the most expensive and pay your own tab when it's the least... That way, over the long run if everything stays averaged(being picked out of the pool), you'll have a positive payout?
