Credit card is expiring... What do I do?

My credit card expires this month, 04/06. I have a half dozen or so automatic payments going to the card, and I don't know how to get a new card. I've tried calling many different numbers and they are all automated and I haven't been able to talk to a real person no matter what number I call. It is a Capitol One Platinum card. I've never had a card expire on me, what do I do?

Ok, hopefully it'll come soon. I'll have to change the expiration on the sites I have the card info saved right?

They may have already sent you one. You should call up and hit 0 until you get someone. You should be able to reach a live person eventually.

On Capitol One's phone systems, 0 is "Incorrect input"

What's that card that they round up to the next dollar and dump the change into a savings account? That one sounds interesting.

that sounds like the Bank of America debit card. Really not worth the hassle of setting one up if you don't have one as BofA savings pays next to nothing and you need a combined minimum to avoid charges. Plus, debit cards don't have as many protections as credit but they are handy for getting cash if you can't get to an atm.

Edit : Agree with PaulNEPats ... Citibank Dividends is a good card (up to $300 back per year).

Not everyone has the credit to obtain good CCs.

have you never had a credit card before?

And if your card expires this month and you still haven't gotten your replacement maybe it got lost in the mail? I always get my replacement cards at least a few weeks before the expiration date. So either way you should call up your cc company.

some places won't approve your card payment if it's the same month as your exp date. That has happened to me before. So make sure you check all your auto-pay places to make sure nothing was denied.

Uh, have you ever had a credit card before?

Unless you're just being funny (b/c I cna't really tell), just b/c your card expires or is expiring doens't mean you have to apply for a new one.
