I got a letter in the mail yesterday from my CC company. It's a letter that says something to the effect of "Did you ever wish you could write a check and pay for it later? Now you can." Enclosed were about 6 legit checks I could write and would be charged to my credit.

Then, I took out the second piece of paper, and it said the exact same thing... I was a little confused, until I realized it was not addressed to me... it was addressed to a woman a few streets away. The CC company had put someone else's checks in MY letter. If I were an asshole, I could just use this woman's checks and steal her money. WTF? Makes me wonder how much of my financial information is being sent to my neighbors. So strange.

IMO, they should pass a law against sending that kind of stuff in the mail. It's extremely unsafe, especially if they fail so hard at stuffing envelopes.

The previous owners of my house have no concept of mail forwarding. After this tax season I had enough paperwork to really fuck with them, fortunately I'm a nice guy and kept on stuffing them back in the mailbox until the mailman got the picture that I don't want their W-2s.

you have to call and activate the checks.

theman noob fail

those checks often have favorable interest rates and are great for balance transfer or for a cheap cashout

there were two letters in one envelope. it's one of the clear window envelopes and my letter was on top so it got put in my mailbox.

IMO, anyone who pays interest on their credit card is a dumb ass. I don't borrow money, I basically just use my credit card as a debit card, but get sent a check for $25 every time i spend $1000 at the grocery store. or I have another CC that gives me money back on gas. why spend money on interest when you can just buy less shit and be happier?

So what does it take, about a year to spend $1000 on Ramen at the grocery store?

my cc called my house with a fraud alert while i was in san diego spending money like i was on vacation... well, i was on vacation. they called my house, not the cell phone they have listed specifically for emergency contact. 5 days gone, they called the first day of the trip and with no response didnt place a hold on the card. id say that was cc company fail there.
