FYI, there is a new version of the Zen Xtra now. I'm not sure if they've changed the hardware (hopefully they've fixed the headphone jack problem), but the packaging is smaller, and it comes with a new carrying case that lets you see the display (you'd think they would have thought of this the first time around). People have reported seeing this at Best Buy. Don't know about online retailers.

I have the 40GB Zen Xtra, and have zilch problems with it. Creatives site shows the same thing it has always for the Zen, maybe they just changed the packaging and case, and have it with the most recent firmwire?

Still shows $248 for me.

Mine had the newest firmware and the new case (which I really don't like). It's been great so far, I've really only used it as something to listen to while I'm playing DAOC.

One thing I don't like is that you can't store files in folders, everything goes in one big directory unlike the MP3 CD Walkman I'm used to using.

Weird - when I posted my first response, Amazon's price was down to $216.95, but now it's back up to $248.14.

Anyways, taking a hint from FW, I bought the 40GB version from Buy.com (with a 10% coupon - search FW for it) for $214.61 shipped. Hope it comes soon!

Nice deals all arounf on the 30 and 40GB MP3. I'm just waiting for the players to be on sale with rebates at CC so I can use my $100 gift card to get it for real cheap.
