Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Sound Card $55AR @ ZZF

The kindly folks at Head-FI say the Extreme Gamer card has inferior capacitors to the Extreme Music. I'm sure that as far as someone like myself and (I'm assuming you) our ears can't tell the difference.

I have the Gamer X-fi card and it is amazing what this bad boy can do in games and music with a set of decent headphones.
 
I believe Extreme Audio is the only X-fi card with inferior, software-based chip. Since Extreme Gamer doesn't have the X-RAM like Fatality, it's probably equivalent to the discontinued Extreme Music.
 
Thanks OP. In for one. I've been eyeballing one of these for some time. Been using onboard audio since the flood. Finally got approval from "the Boss."

I got mine in the mail today, no unexpected surprises. I have been hanging onto on board sound with a NF7-s but now that I use Vista I get no benefit from the sound storm. I am curious as reading around it seems EAX is more or less dying on the vine and most focus from devs and what now stick with standard sound implementations.

Lots of the dolby digital certs for this card seem to go out the door with vista drivers too.

Anyone that has this card use it for many games today with EAX?

Anyhow, I needed a solid dedicated sound card. This seems like a nice quality solution
