Creative Wave Applications?

i am currently working on a paper in which i have to write about an example of wave application.

P wave, S wave, EM wave. any waves.. i need some creative ideas from you all technical people.

I need CREATIVE ideas. Applications like earthquake detection and material properties determination don't cut it.

I thought about remote sensing but there are not enough technical info about it in the library.

So, please. show me your wild imagination. 😉
 
Though the highly technical forum highly disapproves of asking for homework help here, I will offer a suggestion of something that caught my interest.

The other day, there was a program on Discovery, or National Geographic channel, which was discussing predicting Rogue Waves in the open sea. Perhaps you should try to read some of the research by Alfred Osborne.

how about researching the most effective spring tuning to create a rythmical mattress that give the most effective bounce for lovemaking...
 
i always thought we could achieve the most effective bounce ourselves? Maybe you only have to have some rythmical senses? =)
 
I don't know if you consider this creative enough or not, but what about using ultrasonic pulses for the NDE detection of cracks in bodies. For example, this can be used to find failure points on things like bridges, building supports, car frames, etc..., before they are visible to the eye.(NDE = Non-Detstructive Evaluation) They are essentially high frequency sound waves.

Something similar is also used for X-ray microscopy where you are able to view density variations in a material.(this is much more precise and has 3-d capabilities as compared to your standard x-ray)
