The SDPIF is a bit misleading. I have that card and it doesnt use the default line voltage you need to get the daughter card to take advantage of that.

Not me. My CC charge was pending for a couple of days, but now it's not showing anything. They aren't even responding to my emails. Must be a pretty lame company, if they won't even reply to say - sorry, we don't really have what you ordered.

Nope it's just the original SB Live. Incidentaly this card is way better than almost any integrated sound card there is. The nForce solutions might be better... I personaly don't think so, but that's all subjective. SB live has support for ~60 independant voices, most integrated cards only have like ~30. The sound quality is much better as well, again subjective. I have owned my original SB Live Value, for over 5 years now, and I still use it, is literaly the only part I havn't felt the need to upgrade. Maybe once the X-Fi is available I'll buy the gamer version of the card when it reaches like $100 but for right now I am still verry pleased with me Live. Even 5 years on. Great find joker.

I wound up getting the Chaintech AV710 from ZipZoomFly for $26 shipped. At least ZZF is a standup company, not a non-responding POS outfit like these surplus computer clowns.

Just got my card. it is a sound blaster live OEM (CT4830), no cd-spdif. not an amazing card. but great for my machine that currently has none. If it works it will be $8 very well spent.

I too have the original SB Live in my PIII 450 machine. haha
I got one of the Gateway machines from the office depot deals a few weeks back, and will most probably move the SB Live into that machine.

My HTPC on the other hand has a Chaintech AV710. Both cards are great buys.

Mine arrived in the mail today. It's a CT4760 though, not a CT4830 as mordantmonkey received. It has CD SPDIF in. From this site: http://alive.singnet.com.sg/tech/digital-io.htm it appears that the CT48xx can be used to output spdif without a daughter board (at 0.5v), but the CT47xx series outputs at 2.0 and you need a daugther board to step it down. The jack on mine is yellow color. I actually wanted to use it for the SPDIF and hardware mixing capabilities in linux, since the AV710 doesn't support hardware mixing with the latest alsa drivers. If it's a digital output, and the coax inputs are clamped (like by zener diodes for instance) on the amp, it might work. I'll have to do more research, unless someone can give me more info. I don't want to break our Sony ES amp.

Mines a 4760 as well. Works like it should, etc. and was sent safely in a box. I'm not sure if I'll order from these guys again or not tho, or if I do it won't be much money since they don't respond to emails.
