Creative Muvo 512mb MP3 Player $19.99 AR at outpost

$10 MIR, but the link is dead. Still, good price nevertheless. I think they normally sell for around $60, and are on sale for around $40-50. I'm gonna get one, and do the "mail me the rebate" deal. Hopefully it works.

I like these Muvo units because they're reasonably small and they plug right in to the USB port. Wife has a 128MB unit she uses all the time. This will be a nice upgrade for her, and I get her old one. 😀

Here's the corrected link. It took me 30 seconds to figure out the error that Outpost has:

Corrected Rebate Link for MP3 Player

Oh no! I was just going to get the 99 buck 400 mb SATA 3 HD from outpost... but then... too temptiing. Added this to the order list.

Outpost doesn't list it, but from the rebate form this is model 73PF161100000

Any input on how much of a hassle not having a display screen would be? (I'm old, haven't used an MP3 player yet, so don't know how limiting not having that feature would be).

I'm old too and have a 128 mb version that my son won in some contest. I use it all the time for my audible collection and love it. It is very simple and I can alway plug it in if I lose my place an need to drag the playback back to where I want it to be instead of FF or REW. I'm going to buy this so I can give my kid back his and to be able to put more books on at one time.

I have been sniffing around for a deal on another one of these since Cambridge sound did the $30 shipped on the 128mb before xmas last year. That one included a FM radio, but the form factor is SO NICE, very small and plugs right in to a USB and looks just like a normal drive, mix MP3 with homework. Uses just one AAA, but battery life is very reasonable, my son gets a few days between recharges.

Anybody know which model this actually is, no details on frys.

This is the very basic model, no LCD, no voice recorder, no FM, no folder management etc.

That's why I got this one... well, besides the low price. The ones with LCD have a bit less battery life, plus this one plugs directly into the USB port. The Nano (don't know if there's another with LCD off hand) needs a cable to go from the unit to the USB port. This one, just pop the control unit off the battery pack and it's a USB thumb drive. I really like that feature.

Hey, if you're listening to a book and stop the player (e.g., turn it off), will the player remember where you left off? Or, will it start back at the beginning?

Thanks

i have a 256 creative muvo and listen to espn podcasts on it. It remembers where i was in the Cowherd show every time 😀

Say I've got 100 songs on one of these. Is there any way to move around, or does it just play them in order?

e.g., if you're at the beginning, can you specify song 62? Or even get to song 62 without plugging it back into your computer? Anyone know how it works? (I looked at the specs linked above but couldn't tell anything).

It remembers where you left off. The only complaint I have is that the REW and FF buttons are a bit unwieldly. Hold them down too long and they'll skip right to the end.

Thanks, guys.

Got one and it is great. It's a couple of dollars more, but the rebate is good for a couple of more days.

Suprised taht it sounded so good. (but, like some of you I usually just use it for talk stuff).
