The quality of the audigy is far superior to the extigy.. This is great for a laptop or other computer that you can't put an better internal card into.

 
They give the rebate because they just released Extigy NX series. 🙂
YEs, extigy is same class as Audigy (based on USB1.1). And their latest NX series are in the same class as Audigy2 (Based on USB2.0)
