Bah, tax...
Atleast you get an old/outdated game bundle.
Creative rebates are good, I get them when I mail them in.

Still a good deal, even without the games it's a bit cheaper than the normal ZS so that works for me. If I even get a few hours entertainment out of the games then it was worth it to me.

This is why the rebates are being offered to get rid of these.

Well, if you can give me a reason why the X-Fi is so much better than the Audigy 2 then I would wait, but I am betting you can't. Sound cards are more of a every other gen upgrade for me. I use a SB live in one machine and onboard in the other, so an audigy 2 works well for me and it is WAY more advanced than I need to power my Z-560's.

Unlike some I don't run out and buy the latest every time ;)

After doing some initial research you can see that while the X-FI is supposed to be 20 times more powerful than "it's predecessor" (audigy 2 I assume) it's results put it as increasing performance on one game in the best comparisson they have over on-board sound by 17%. We all-ready know the audigy 2 also increases the game performance slightly by reducing CPU load so the difference has to be less than 17%, so even best case that 20 times more powerful card has under 17% improvement.

There might be some better additions for audiophiles and music creators but I doubt the gaming performance is a great improvement.

Get this audigy 2 gamer pak if you have been waiting for a good deal, it's definitly a nice card and you can't complain about all the free games

Yeah, not sure if I'll play the games either but since it's the same price as the normal version online, what the heck.

Price wise, this is probably the limit for me to spend on sound. I found this on the creative labs website. I can only assume this is going to cost an arm and a leg. I haven't opened mine yet, maybe I'll wait til the end of the week when the X-Fi gets released.

I'd definitely opt for the "Platinum" version of this, just to get the breakout box for the front bay of the pc tower. Makes life quite convenient, audiowise.

I have this card/breakout box; got it from ZZF last year when they had a $75 rebate on it. Rebate came from Creative very quickly, as I recall.

Don't care about the game bundle. Haven't loaded one of the games that came with it whatsoever.
