Creative Labs Nomad ZEN and ZEN NX prices

well, after endless searching, ive finally given up on trying to get an ipod. too much money.

im now trying to go after the Nomads, and my only question is whether 'hot deals' on these appear frequently. ive searched the hot deals forum and largewallet, and found no threads.... which leads me to believe that, unlike motherboards/digital cameras/dell products, the market value on these things are pretty much the retail msrp. is this correct?

i dont want to purchase one at full price and then see some huge discount pop up a week later. thanks 🙂
 
There use to be a $50 Mail in rebate from Creative but that was awhile back. I looked into getting a Zen back when I first heard about and its price but the software that you have to use for it made me not get it.

supposedly some company (redboot or something) makes a 3rd party software that is heads and shoulders beyond the supplied software 😎. 35$ is not alot to pay , figurign in the 200$ savings over an ipod 🙂
 
Notmad explorer is the name of the software, and it is a must if you own one of Creative's mp3 players.

Zen NX prices are very reasonable right now.
 
the software is called "Notmad" and I hear that it's much, much better than Creative's software.

I have a Zen and I love it. I bought an iPod and Zen to find out which I liked more. The iPod was nice, but definitely not worth the extra money to me. For the price difference, you can buy a Zen and really nice headphones.
 
Buy.com has the 20GB version of the Zen NX for $212.95

That's the best deal I could find.

You should probably go to BB or some place and take a look first-hand at size.

On another note, I got an iPod (20 gig for $300 from a hot deal) but in retrospect a Zen might have been better for me.
