I was considering a sound card for an upcoming build. Creative Labs blasted out an ad 30% off sitewide. I got excited and was going to buy one until I got a hold of the exclusion list. It includes all their internal cards except 1-2 old POS. Next time just advertise "select products" not "sitewide"

30% off is applicable storewide, except for the following products:
  • Creative X-Fi Sonic Carrier
  • Creative Stage V2
  • Creative Stage
  • Creative Pebble
  • Creative Pebble V2
  • Creative Pebble V3
  • Creative Pebble V3 + 30W PD Adapter Bundle
  • Creative Pebble Plus
  • Creative 30W PD Adapter
  • Creative T100
  • Creative BT-W3
  • Aurvana Trio Wireless
  • Creative Outlier Air V2
  • Sound BlasterX G6
  • Sound Blaster G3
  • Sound Blaster AE-9
  • Sound Blaster AE-7
  • Sound BlasterX AE-5 Plus Pure Edition
  • Sound BlasterX AE-5 Plus
  • Sound Blaster X3
  • Sound Blaster Omni Surround 5.1
  • Sound Blaster Play! 3
  • Creative Live! Cam Sync 1080p
  • Creative SXFI TRIO
  • Creative SXFI GAMER

They usually don't have many restrictions on their sales.

That said, I looked at their current sales and you likely could the item cheaper through retailers.

I have not purchased a creative labs product since A3D ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aureal_Semiconductor ).

Yes, I hold a grudge.

It is pathetically sad, but pc gaming sound is still inferior to what we had in the late 1990s, and it is all creative lab's fault. May that company die in the fire.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aureal_Semiconductor
After numerous lawsuits Aureal won a favorable ruling in December 1999,[1] which vindicated Aureal from these patent infringement claims, but the legal costs were too high and Aureal filed for bankruptcy. On September 21, 2000, Creative acquired Aureal's assets from its bankruptcy trustee for US$32 million through the bankruptcy court,
A3D uses a subset of the actual in-game 3D world data to accurately model the location of both direct (A3Dspace) and reflected (A3Dverb) sound streams (A3D 2.0 can perform up to 60 first-order reflections).
Following Aureal Semiconductor's acquisition by Creative, support for the API was discontinued.

Creative Lab's evil greed is a stain on PC gaming history and nobody should ever buy anything from the company forever more.
