Ok, I was playing nascar on my old pc the other day when the graphics freaked out & the textures started flashing all over the place.
Knowing that this is a sign of the card overheating & Im not overclocking the card, I immediately shut the pc down my pc, rebooted into the bios(just to have my pc running) & checked the fan on my GF2 Ultra.
Sure enough, the fan died & the card was overheating.
So I replaced the fan on the card, applied arctic silver2 to the heatsink & re-installed the card.
Everything worked fine.
I raced & played MOHAA without any troubles in WinMe for days.
So today, I decided to format that pc & upgrade it to WinXP.
Well, my GF2 Ultra hates WinXP , when XP gets to the video card detection during setup, it locks up my pc.
I ended up using an old Kyro2 to get winxp installed.
So once I had WinXp up & running, I uninstalled the Kyro2 & inserted my GF2 Ultra & sure enough, when winxp detected the card & tried to install the 23.11 drivers that came with winxp, my pc locked again half way through the driver installation.
Ok, so I removed those drivers and downloaded the new detonators from the Nvidia site. (28.32s)
Half way through the install, my pc locks up.
I just downloaded the latest drivers that Creative has for my Creative Annililator Pro GF2 Ultra(27.50s) and Im gonna try them, but Im not counting on it.
Is it possible that the card overheating damaged it?
Then why did it work fine in WinMe?
And why did it work fine in WinXP when I had XP installed on this pc b4?
Where is a site that I can "actually get on" to download a GF2 Ultra Nvidia reference bios & ultilites to flash this cards bios if I need to?
Its definately not my mobo bios settings or anything, I built this pc & have had WinMe & WinXP on it numerous times before with this video card without any problems.
So Im hoping a bios flash will save this aging but still great video card.
Any help for where to get a reference bios out there, with a link that acutually works?
And where can I get older detonators beside guru3d?
I cant get any downloads to work from Guru3D today!

Assign IRQ to VGA = enabled
all cache options = disabled
AGP is at 2x (cuz its a Soyo 6BAIV 440BX mobo)
No fast writes.
No sidebanding
No overclocking
Card = 64mb Creative Annihilator Pro Geforce2 Ultra
