Creative FPS 2000 Digital

Are they any good? I'm seriously considering buying these speakers.
They should work fine with a SB Live Value right?
Anyone who got these? What do you think of 'em?

I've had them for about a couple of years, first connected to a Soundblaster Live Value and now a Soundblaster Live Platinum 5.1. I felt that there was no need for an upgrade when I upgraded my soundcard since I don't use my computer to view a movie (I have a dedicated home theater for that reason). If you speaker package doesn't include the proprietary 1/8" to 9 pin DIN adapter or 9 pin DIN bracket, make sure to call Creative Labs to get it. Going this route gives you an all digital signal from the computer right up to the subwoofer (from the sub to the speakers the signal is coverted to analog). The speakers sound great, maybe not as good as a pair of THX approve Klipsch ProMedia 4.2s, but the FPS 2000s don't carry the ProMedia's price.

OK, back to the thread...

I have these speakers with an SBLive Value and I think for the price and size of speakers they sound great. Just as long as you don't have your PC in an enermous room and you can position them currently I think you'll enjoy them.

They do have particularly good clarity for music compared to a lot of computer speakers I have heard.

Certainly. This was the sound card the FPS2000s were designed to be hooked up to.

I would say it's generally thought that at a slightly lower cost, the Altec Lansing ACS56 Digital speakers have more power and clarity and the Cambridge SoundWorks FPS2000 Digitals. I listened to both very carefully before choosing the ACS56s.

For very detailed reviews and comparisons between the two sets, see the Altec Lansing ACS56 Digital review and the Cambridge SoundWorks FPS2000 Digital review at 3DsoundSurge. They know what they're talking about. 🙂

I have a pair of them hooked up to a SBLive X-Gamer. No complaints here. They sound great and the price wasn't too bad either.

they dont work in digital with some older values since the old values dont have a digital port. you need a ct4760 or ct4830 based card . i think it works with the original live, but not the original live value because the orignal live value doesnt support the daughter board connecter . i have them they are good for the $110 or so they cost, but i got mine for free. i'd probably get some altech ada880s for that price if i had to pay though

Tnx guys, I think I'll buy the FPS 2000, I can get them at a really good price from a dealer not far from where I live.
