Creative drivers install spyware

I don't know if anyone has posted this info before, couldn't find it. From here, they have the detective work about a sneakly little program euphemistically called "newsupdate" that is automatically (quietly) installed onto your system when you install the drivers.

It's actual purpose is retrieving creative-sponsored advertising automatically, as well as seemingly inspecting the browser cache for other advertising and (possibly) reporting back to Creative about it. According to the website, the program even stores its (text) config files as .sys files to ensure the user doesn't think to delete them.

Something smells very fishy, and it aint dinner...

Sure I already knew about this but....

Yet another reason I've joined the creative-hater club 😉

Santa Cruz comming tomorrow! Whoohoo!
