Well, if you know Creative, you know that they charge for driver CD's. I managed to misplace mine in the many moves from school and back home, and now I need it. I am planning to move the Audigy2 Value to my HTPC so that I can do direct out for the games that I play and get the nifty EAX surround. This requires the control panel and it doesn't seem to like the plain jane Audigy2 driver CD that I managed to find.

Anybody that has an image of the driver CD or even just the vital driver+control panel please let me know. Something can be worked out, I am sure :)

Thanks a bunch in advance,
Nat

check their website. Audio Console ver 1.20.23 is there for download.
There is also full version of driver 2.08.0002 available, but it's beta only.
Well, this should do anyway...

This way or the other another bump for you ;)

Well, I finally moved the A2 Value over, and the online downloads are complete, you just don't get the nice looking app that sits in the system tray.

Finally, Creative had to host up apps that made their cards fully functional without the original CD...

Thanks!

Try a while ago. You could get drivers, but not the app that would let you configure speaker settings, etc. I still can't download the app that lets me tweak room settings as it an "update only".

Drivers are one thing, the control panel is something else. Go check the website, www.creative.com. And since that audio console is dated 30 Aug 05, it is fairly recent.

*SO YES, the drivers have always been there. The control panel has not. Try exercising some reading comprehension before you go spouting off.

You can still tweak how they sound......there are alot of programs that have equalizers and such that will allow you to tweak your speakers instead of asking us to do it for you...

You misplaced your CD....why have you not contacted the Creative peeps yet....I am sure if you have the proper documentation they will send you a CD for a modest charge..but hey 5 bucks = a lesson learned....capiche??

maybe these sites can help you...
also did you do a google search for another site that you might be able to d/l what you need??

If you misplaced your nvidia cd, would you expect to have to pay for replacement before you got your nv control panel back? No. Hell, you wouldn't even want to install all the outdated crap that came along with that cd. The same applies here. I don't know of another company who employs similar practices, other than ATI with their ever so precious gemstar+ TV guide.

The point is that Creative still refuses to let you download the complete control panel from their website, which is ridiculous. The advanced apps are update only. Is there any good reason for this rather than creative wanting to squeeze just a little more money out of you? No. Considering this a lesson to learn, when only Creative is so asinine to make it so, is a joke that anybody should recognize.

Jeeze, heaven forbid I ask for some help in the general help forum. Man, so unreasonable of me. I know that there are people out there who host up the Gemstar+ guide for people who were so unlucky to misplace the CD that came with their AIW card. I am one of those people. Is it so unreasonable for me to expect that someone might be nice enought to host up the nessecary files for their Audigy2 Value card? I don't think so. At least Ghouler was nice enough to point out that at the moment they do have a completely functioning, if very barebones, control panel available for download.

Again, thanks ghouler for pointing that out. Earlier, the summer of 05, I had zero luck trying to migrate this sound card to a different PC bccause all I could get is stereo out. The windows built in peaker utility doesn't realy help to specify what should go of the digital out and what shouldn't. In my case I needed both analog and digital signals to go over the SPDIF interface, and I couldn't make that happen.

* The guides turned up by Google are largely about the Audigy on up. I have an Audigy2 LS, which is evidently a special animal. Yes I checked it out, and my attempts at using Audigy 2 software were in vain.

Once I find my CD (which I suspect is at my SO's place, approximately 3 hours away) I will be more than happy to share it's contents.
