Check out the forums at www.nomadness.net I know there was problem with the headphone jack breaking off of the circuit board. I had to take mine apart and resolder the jack back on. 90 day warranty and on day 91 it broke. :( Not to thread crap, but i figured people would like to know.

Yeah, I gotta chime in with the same problem. Although they did say there was a 1 year warranty, I was pretty mad that I had to pay for return shipping (With Insurance), and a possible repair fee *if* they deemed it a non-warranty issue.

95% of the time, I use it on my computer at work through the USB connection, so it is still an AWESOME player. But, that headphone jack issue really annoys me.

I think a similar thing happened to my Muvo2 4GB, for little bit after the warranty period the headphone jack became jacked up. I haven't taken it apart yet to see if that indeed was the cause, but I suspect it is. Kinda sucks, for I never have resoldered anything before so I don't know if I will be able to repair it myself.

If I am not mistaken, they solved the problem with the short in the headphone jack with the new ones.

Looks like creative labs can't really do the soldering job right. I have a nomad II and it has the same problem. Just got a muvo nx and I hope this won't happen again.

I had the headphone jack problem also, but a simple solder job fixed it and it's been fine for 6 months now. Even though this thing is a brick compared to the Ipod, it has a user replacable battery and it uses a normal laptop hard drive so you might be able to swap that out too. I believe they took the player off the market to fix the jack problem, so I think it will be fine now too.
