creative 256 Live!

First, tap the caps lock button so you don't look like you're shouting all the time. Second, what motherboard are you currently using?

Is it for gaming or mostly to listen to music?
Any decent card is better than motherboard audio if its AC'97.
If its for playing games, get a Creative.

sorry about the caps lock
and the motherboard is ECS 865pe-A and it got an AC'97 audio from realtek, and i need the card for music in the first place.
so what do you think guyz?

Oh, you're buying this?

What kind of speakers do you have?

Chaintech AV-710 is a nice affordable music card. What's your budget?

and about my budget it is not big man, if you know wht i mean!

Are you planning on using both at once for a 4.2 set or just one set?

I don't think you can do better than the Chaintech for $26. Maybe hunt around and you can shave a couple bucks off that.

There is no creative 256. There is a creative 24-bit Live. Post a link so we know what you are talking about.

So its the Creative 24-bit. You could use that or the Chaintech710, not much diff btwn the 2.
It might be marginally better than onboard sound.

When I was using the 710, it was more than marginally better than onboard, but I suppose you're right that it wouldn't make a lot of difference if there's another very weak link in the system.
