IMO, these are the 12x10x32 IDE CDRW worth looking at: Aopen (NOT ACER) 1232a/Pro w/JL (JustLink), TDK w/BP (BurnProof) or JL, Plextor w/BP, Ricoh w/JL (Aopen is licensed Ricoh design), Teac 512EB w/BP, Sanyo w/BP (some TDK are Sanyo, some are Ricoh). Check reviews at:

. I've installed several of the Aopen 1232s in the past couple of weeks and they live up to their reviews. The only advantage the CL drive has is that you can go down to the local megastore or WalMart and buy one, whereas most of those I mentioned may require a web or phone purchase (e.g. the retail packaged Teacs at CompUSA are still the E version w/o BP--at least at the store here). In fact, since CL doesn't actually manufacture any drives, it may well be a rebadged version of one of my picks--only way to tell is to rip the box open and look (look up FCC ID number:
www.fcc.gov click on Search).
