So far I got this guy for $ 182.73 with the help of a gift card

eMachines Desktop with AMD Sempron? Processor 3400+

I have 2 x 512 mb DDR 400 VS rams on hand, one will be added in the remainder of the slot. ( $0 )

1 extra PCI exhaust fan will be added ($ 0) to cool the system down :p

Thermaltake TR2 W0070 ATX 430W Power Supply 115/230 V - Retail - $ 39.99

SAPPHIRE 100106L Radeon X850XT 256MB 256-bit - $ 119

Grand total of computer ( $ 182.73) + upgrades ($ 178.82 after tax/shipping) = $ 361.55

Not bad eh :) ? Btw..just to let you know, this will be a replacement desktop for my 2 lil brothers...a birthday present you might say (ages 12 & 10 :p ). I'm not sure whether the upgrades are overkill..but it doesn't hurt :) would it?

I can' t believe I did this, My first rig (almost the same exact specs) cost me around $ 1200  (depreciation FTW lol)

Should I pull the trigger on the uprades? different suggestions?

The Sempron 3400+ paired with the X850XT looks a bit off-kilter. You could either scale back on the video card or upgrade the CPU. You could also replace that TT PSU with an FSP Group one (Fortron) for the same price.

Looks great though.

Looks good

The sempy will be fine with that card. A better cpu would get you minimal gains. A better video card would get you much more, but you dont need a better card so its irrelivent :) X850XT's are nice cards!

honestly I paired my 3100+ sempron ($113 last year) + x850xt agp ($349.99 last year... :frown: ) on my first rig and didn't got any problems AFAIK. And it did plays all the games like smooth butter.

This is a steal to be honest :)...the whole damn setup cost as much as my BBA x850xt agp for goodness sakes :frown: :frown: !!!!!!!

I might check out the FSP, but which would you guys recommend. I'm not that "really" familiar with the brand

I hope you ordered it already, because it's sold out. Great system though.

well I'll grab the FSP 400 W and it fits the budget :D, I'll be getting that instead.

Are they any better than TT ?

I gots my x850xt and psu already. Just before installing them, especially the card. Is it possible to run the card without CCC? From what I learned from the reviews @ newegg.com. The card's fan runs @ 5 % before reaching 90C. That I wouldn't want to happen, so if I install the ATI tool to adjust the fan speed to 15 % + Ati stand alone drivers. Will I be okay?

newegg had that deal for 100 bucks where you get a motherboard and 754 cpu
not sure if they still got it going but that was a cheap deal, someone i know just picked one up and built a system for like 300 bucks
also they have that thing were if you spend over 250 you don't have to pay for 3 months, 6 months if over 500

good luck

The deal for the cpu + mobo is still going on. The deal will end at the end of the month. I'm pretty happy with my purchase with the e-machines (sempron 3400, 512 mb, 160 HDD, DVD+R/RW) for $ 182 bucks :p. It's going to be sweet with Install another 512mb of mem and x850xt pci-e
