I have a question for anyone who has made a skin for Winamp.

I have about 150 Winamp skins, and I notice they are all identical dimensions, the player is the same size.

Can you define a different [larger] dimension for the Winamp player, I mean besides using the 'double-size' option, or is the dimension pretty much fixed?

I ask because at 1024x768, the Winamp player is pretty damned small (in my opinion) unless you have a 19" or larger monitor. But if you use the 'double-size' option, it is disproportionately large and the bitmap resolution gets too strained resulting in a blurry look.

You're stuck then. No way that I know of that you can magnify the size of except the double size button and it looks $hitty because of the aliasing. BTW, some people are really great at making those skins, some really beautiful Quake III skins on there, if only someone could make me one for my AIM window. Glad they finally realized that skins were the only thing the program needed.

You mean AOL Instant Messenger? They made it skinnable? I haven't used AIM for about a year or more.

There are actually Winamp skins done with an AIM/AOL theme. Yuck.

What sort of dorks made an AIM/AOL skin?! I'd massacre them if I ever found them but yeah, they finally made it skinnable which is semi-cool for such a gay program for teenie-boppers.

Trillian is much much much better than AIM. In the new version they're developing they've got winamp controls and many other plugins in the works. :)

I'm pretty sure the image is fixed at the original size. On the other hand you could try skinning WA3. That should get you where you want to be :)
