Creatine

arcenite

Lifer
I have been doing some research about creatine and since I am interested in improving my strength I figured I should give this stuff a shot. Where should I go to buy this stuff?

Thanks,
Bill

Does creatine have anything to do with creatinine?

Creatinine is a product of creatine phosphate in the skeletal muscle system, so yes.

Ahh ok.

Last time I had a check up I had "high creatinine levels" in my urine.

Luckily, my doc says its not bad if the high levels are in the urine, only if the high levels are in the blood.

Sounds good to me!

DPS Nutrition

Also there is no evidence that all of those "new" creatines like CEE are any better than the plain stuff.

Finally, if you are new to working out, I would suggest getting your routine and diet down pat before you start looking to supplements. Here is a really good place to go to get info. on this:

The ethyl supposedly has a higher % of absorbtion in your body, but this has yet to be proven by any scientific study.

I go by what changes I see in my lifts and my friends. It def works better for me than reg creatine. Although creatine is still effective.

Lazy people use Creatine.
If you use it, Don't stop working out, you will look like a saggy old man. Its all water.

Bull Sh!t. When I do a cycle on it I tend to work harder due to the fact that I recover faster.

Why the hell would anyone want to use it if they are working out?

Pure ignorant BS. The creatine causes water retention within the muscle, giving it a fuller appearance and extra strength. Any muscle you gain while using it is yours to keep.

You don't need to cycle it, either.

I'm by no means an expert and you might be right but the product I use advises that I take it for 6 to 8 weeks and then go off for about a month and do another cycle for best results.

Creatine is BS. The only reason you get a little stronger is because it retains water hence giving you the ability to work out a little longer. Just eat correctly and take protien powder..

If you still want it, pick up protien powder as well creatine at VITAGLO.com!!!!!!!

$45 Optimum Nutrition Whey 10lb + $10 creatine = free shipping over $50

plus ON whey is the Best you can buy and cheapest here

This is when I wish my muscle training guide was still on here. First of all, ON Whey is really good, but don't spend more than $25 for 5lb of it. Just go to bodybuilding.com to get it. For creatine, I'd recommend 5g to 10g of Creatine Mono daily with at least a gallon of water- if you are on a budget, but Man Clout is really good if you can shell out a little extra money. If you want it in pill form, Green Buldge will work great.

ON is NOT the best. Its a blend that still contains whey concentrate. Protein that is all whey isolate is better. They may offer it, ive never looked at their whole selection.

I'm thinking about taking the green buldge instead of taking cell-tech creatine. Anybody using the pill form? would like to see if its worth swtiching.
Also, any good protein bars to recommend? I would like to increase my weight 15 lbs or so.

Creatine and protein bars are not going to magically allow you to gain 15 lbs. First, you need to calculate an approximation for your BMR:

BMR calculator

Now, take that number of calories and increase it by 10%. Eat that number each day and track your weight each morning. If you weight hasn't gone up by a lb. in 1 week, add another 200 cals or so to the total. You can track your cals here:

Fitday

For an idea of what kinds of foods to eat, look here:

What a Bodybuilder Eats

I assume you already have a weight training program that focuses on basic free weight compound movements like squat, bench, row, dip, etc.

Actually creatine works. It provides extra ATP.
