Creatine Supplementation

I workout regularly everyother day, or three times a week on average. I'm 16 years old and I was wondering if supplementing with Creatine will have any adverse effects on me. I took Creatine Monohydrate for about two months over the summer, I saw very little in the amount of mass gained however I noticied a signifiicant strength increase. Anyone have any suggestions? I couldn't find much on teen use online. Thanks.
 
Just don't stop.. creatine helps you build up quicker, but when you stop, you will be back to where you started in no time.

I have taken creatine many times and you are right the big mass gains you did not see are really not to expected...the strength and endurance is exactly what i have gotten too...

I have cycled on monhydrate for a long tome and now currently use ethel ester when not on another type of training regiment...


There are no adverse effects...it is a myth it stunts your growth....you also do not lose all your strenght after you stop...water retension goes down a bit but nothing else (that was made up by pansies who were jealous they didnt try it) you still lifted, you just got a more efficient pump, which gave you the quicker gains...by no means does it go away...and you have to stop using it with monohydrate


anyway I reccomend the ethel ester...just not that cell tech sh!t...

BTW just make sure you drink enough water...it helps you stay hydrated and get better lifts....and creatine can dehydrate you quicker while lifting then without so you don't want to cramp...plus you want maximum fluid available for dissusion into and out of your muscles...

I was looking at EE and I may end up buying some this evening. I have my tub of monohydrate still and I haven't used it recently. I did notice that if I didnt use it with a meal it wouldnt get absorbed well and I would get diarrhea. I don't buy the combination formulas like Muscle Milk or Cell Tech. I'm taking in about 140 oz of water a day so I'm plenty over what I need. Thanks.

Not really.

There is no extra-cellular water retention associated with Creatine. The only water retention involved occurs inside the cell, a process called "Cell Volumization". This process is linked to increased muscle protein synthesis, which means greater muscle size and strength. In anabolic states, muscle hydration or water retention always occurs, with the reverse occurring during catabolic conditions, i.e., cellular dehydration. To put it simply, while some people may gain some "water weight" during a creatine use, this isn't the bloating effect normally associated with water retention.

But I do find the guys that are 5'7" , try to put on massive amounts of size, but never do any cardio kinda funny

 
I didn't like the way it bloated my body, so I stopped taking it a week ago.

I have lost a bit of "strength", but oh well.

Nothing he said was false. Creatine does cause you to retain water in the muscles. That retention can falsely swell your bulk. Doesn't happen for everyone, but along with the swelling is actual gain as well.

I actually agree with what you're trying to say: "Don't knock creatine till you've tried or at least studied up on it." But having to decipher your crap spelling and grammar makes me wanna slap you.

true...I run everyday of the week...I average about 30-36 miles a week...and lift three times a week...

 
So when's the best time to run if you're trying to get cut?

Right now I'm running everyday except the day I work out my legs and the day after.
