Simply put...I can't sleep when I use creatine. 1000mg down to 500 mg or less has the same sleep problem. Anybody else have sleeping problems with creatine?? And any idea why it would cause sleep problems?? I've searched and can't find anything that explains the cause / effect of creatine sleep issues...

Do you eat chicken or any meats? Do you have trouble sleeping when you eat them if so?

You get more creatine than that eating a meal with chicken or steak which is why I'm asking.

Is yours straight creatine or is it mixed with any stuff that has caffeine or sugar?

I eat grass fed bison and beef along with chicken / turkey and have no issues..the product I tried is straight up creatine. Nothing else in it..

I can see absolutely no mechanism that would lead to creatine use causing sleep issues. How soon before sleep are you taking it? Have you tried identical days of activity with/without creatine as a control?

I would usually take it in the morning with scrambled eggs...

Why would use in the morning lead you to believe that it is interfering with your sleep? I have to believe there's something else going on and this is just a false correlation.

FYI most studies would generally indicate you should take creatine immediately after anaerobic exercise and 3-5g is the appropriate amount for supplementing for muscle growth. If you're taking 500 mg I would just stop because it's not really doing you any good.

That you're using, leads to the deduction that you lift. Conclusion = you may be overtraining.

I'm a cyclist...I do between 20 and 30 miles a day. Some research on creatine suggests there may be modest benefits for cyclists...
