Anybody know if and how you can creat a floppy boot disk from within win2000? I want to flash the BIOS and need to boot from floppy to do it. Tired of having to find a 95 or 98 machine every time a need a boot floppy.

uh, why not just create a folder in the root directory of your 2K install and dump necessary 10 or 12 boot files there, then (control/A) copy paste them to a floppy when needed

Cuz that won't update the boot sector of the floppy.

what on earth are you talking about "update the bootsector of the floppy"
did you read what the man posted?

actually he doesn't need a Win 98 startup floppy to update mobo bios. You only need awardflash.exe, the update .bin file, command.com, and the two registry files, IO.sys and msdos.sys - and autoexec.bat if you want it to autostart. Once again, in this more focused case, just make a file in the root directory with these files and paste in whatever bin file you need. That way you wont "have to look for a Win 98 machine" all the time.

Q. Where is RDISK in Windows 2000?

A. A. The RDISK.EXE utility has been replaced with an option in the
NTBACKUP.EXE utility.

1.Start NTBACKUP.EXE (Start - Run - NTBACKUP.EXE)
2.Select "Create an Emergency Repair Disk" from the tools menu
3.Insert a blank formatted disk in drive A: and click OK
4.Click OK to the completion message and click OK
