I love peanut butter. Lately, I've been on a natural kick and I've grown to like the taste better than brands like Jiffy.

I'm eating Smucker's Natural Peanut Butter. The oil is separated on the top.

You can get natural PB in both chunky and creamy variants. Try Adams brand if your store carries it. Ingredients: peanuts.

Yeah, you have to stir natural peanut butter. Although now they're adding more crap in so it's no-stir, but still calling it natural, which is BS. If you want some crazy sticky stuff, try Krema:

They use Spanish roasted peanuts. Their stuff is the bomb dot com. My current favorite PB is the kind from Earth Balance with coconut oil in it. It's like eating a more natural version of the inside of a Reese's PB cup: (uses agave as the sweetener)

Have you ever tried cashew butter? It's amazing. Super easy to make at home with a food processor, just dump in the cashews & let it spin for 20 minutes:

Add 2:1 cashew:honey, throw some chocolate chips in, tastes just like cookie dough, nom nom nom.

You are supposed to stir it and then refrigerate it to keep it mixed.

I'm sorry for being ignorant. I've been keeping it in my cupboard.

I will stir it and refrigerate the peanut butter immediately.

Thanks.

If you ever see the grinder in a store that literally grinds peanuts get some its good stuff. Use it quickly because it goes bad quick like fresh bread.
You can find it at wholefoods' if you live near one.

It actually comes out a bit sweet. It's REALLY good. With honey & dark chocolate chips, it's super addicting. Food processors run about $40 if you don't have one, or five bucks at a local tag sale since no one ever uses them :p

PB is amazing. I use it for a bunch of recipes and stuff that I've actually been making my own. Seriously, if you have a food processor the work involved is so minimal for the results. Peanuts, salt, peanut oil - done. I've been making ~3 cups at a time and storing in mason jars. You'll probably have to order the peanuts online (I used Amazon) unless you have a local store that'll sell ~20 lbs of spanish peanuts. Of course they don't have to be spanish, but that was what I read to use when I started making it. A little adjusting here and there and you'll have somethin' delicious.

Oh yeah...Energy Bites:

Reminds me, CraKaJaX...my latest creation: take some PB, a bit of melted coconut oil, mix in some honey & vanilla, and crush up some rice krispies (in like a ziploc bag) & mix them in (make sure the battery is on the drier side first, so the krispies don't get mushy & soft). Oh. My. Gosh. I didn't even put chocolate on them...they were so good! I made a dessert version too, by mixing in some powdered sugar. The crunch makes them AWESOME!

I used to make cashew butter in my blender. Roasted and raw, they are different, both really good. I think given the choice I prefer roasted. I've made my own roasted almond butter too, which I like as well.

I will not buy anything but natural peanut butter. Once you get into it, something like Jiffy or Skippy doesn't taste right.

I used to make my own peanut butter from raw peanuts, which I roasted myself. I bought them in Oakland's Chinatown for around $1/lb, not Spanish peanuts, but the "regular" kind. They sell de-shelled peanuts with and without the dark hulls on them, I got the ones with the hulls, I figured that increases the nutritional value, at the very least by adding fiber. I added a little salt, that's all, 1/2 teaspoon added to 28 oz. roasted nuts in my Osterizer Blender (in my experience the best kind to get, less apt to burn out, especially the ones with 600 watt motors). Less than a year ago I decided to just buy it ready made, I've been buying the organic Kirkland natural peanut butter at Costco, it's very acceptable. Yes, you have to stir it. What I'm doing at the moment (it's an experiment) is turning the bottles over occasionally prior to opening. The theory is that I won't have to work so hard to mix it all up. It's not that difficult, but making work easier is always a nice idea. I don't refrigerate it. I might have to stir the 28 oz. jars some a few times, but mostly the oil doesn't rise to the top and it's usable.
