CRC errors

I keep getting CRC errors whenever I download a zip file over 1 gig, any idea why this happens? I have already tried reformatting my computer but that hasn't helped.

Thanks in advance.

I have 2 drives connected to the same computer, one an SSD the other a traditional HDD. Tried downloading to both and failed and now I am going to re-download on my laptop to see how it goes.

yeah thats a good idea, it could be the file.

Other then that I cant think of why, unless maybe an issue with the sata controller.

Have you memory checked? It quite possibly could be memory. Do the memory test after you know its corrupted a file. Do not power off before hand though.

Sounds like you are encountering a parameter limit with the software/application involved with the download process. If you are trying to accomplish this from a browser then inspect the browser settings (may be a limit on the maximum allowed download as the browser is used to specify where the download is to be stored/directed) or use another browser application.

I am using flashget/IDM and no limits are set within the options.

Any other ideas?

You say you downloaded to both drives but get the same problem. Have you changed the temporary folder for your browser? Cause I believe that the browser i.e. Internet Explorer, stores there before moving the file to the other drive.

Try new SATA cables, are you able to install OS on the other drive (making it primary) seeing whether there is an issue with the current boot drive? Change the SATA port the drives are connected to?

Reinstall motherboard drivers, including AHCI/SATA drivers. Have you also tried to change SATA (AHCI or IDE) mode in the BIOS? Just a few ideas.

Thanks going to try these now.

Interesting turn of events. I used a wireless USB adapter to connect to my router through WiFi and I downloaded the files fine. Going to try re-installing drivers for the motherboard.
