Crazy voltage reading!

Everything was fine until a few days ago. Now, here are the readings:

+3.3v=0.00v
+12v=0.00v
-12v=-16.97v
-5v=-8.58v

All my other reading are within spec.

What could be going on. My computer still overclocks well and my games run well. Do you think I have anything to worry about?

Jonny....about stickying that message that software volatge readings shouldn't be trusted....

We get at least one message a week about super low voltage readings from some program don't we?


The problem is you are wasting your time worrying about bogus readings from some crappy software program.

I mean really, do you even think your computer would be running if those readings were accurate?

BIOS is a program....as jonny will tell you, no matter what program you use, all of them get their readings from the same source.

Again do you really think you would be running your computer with 0V of 12V power? For an experiment try turning on a flashlight with no batteries in it...does it work?

If you can get a flashlight to run on 0V then you might get your computer to run on 0V.

Ok. That's great news and I thank you. I was just wondering why my BIOS reported proper voltages and, all of a sudden it's not.🙂

BIOS = Still software.
Downloadable Software = Reads BIOS reading 90% of the time.

Get a DMM(Digital Multi-Meter).

You still don't know that the voltages it reported before were proper. Really as long as your computer is stable, what does it matter, you can't use what it reports for anything.

Did you add any new hardware? Flash the BIOS. Perhaps the algorithm it uses to calculate the voltage was mess up by something you did. Maybe a sensor was knocked loose.
