and for those of you who dont believe it, it was played using some kind of emulation like on a pc/dreamcast etc, where you can insta-save it and restart a few seconds back if you make a mistake.

that's not the fake part. the guy uses only two whistles to get to world 8. in the american version (at least), you have to use three whistles in order to warp to the last world. so the concensus is that he cut out a large chunk in between (you need to go through almost all of world 2 to get the third whistle).

Um I havent played MB3 in a while but I remember only needing two whistles to get to world8. If you used em back to back only though.

True.

The fake part was the fact the he developed a mod in his emulator, and slowed down the entire game. This is how he got those 'skills', then he brought the game back to normal speed, and got all of the insane combos. (Or he just sped it up for the video)

Hey, anyone have the link to the guy that beat Super Mario Brothers (the original) in an insanely short period of time?

It's not fake, however he did use emulation software and hex game-genie codes to modify the game. If you watch the entire thing there are numerous times where he would have been hit by the bullets he somehow manages to dump ontop of as they hit his torso, etc. While I admit that it takes quite a bit of skill to even do THAT much, it is irregardless not a legitimate run of the game without modifications to the dynamics, hitboxes, etc..
