While surfing the rage3d forums, I ran across a thread detailing how to softmod an 8800GTS to a Quadro FX4600. The softmodded Quadro outperformed the 8800GTS in 3dmark05 and 03 (not sure about 06). It got me thinking that the capabilities and driver support for Quadro causes it to perform better on synthetic benchmarks, although it may suffer in games. Currently the FX5500 is the best Quadro and goes for over $2300 each on newegg. I'm wondering if anyone's ever heard of trying to SLI two of these suckers with crazy OCing on all of the components then running some synthetics... It's an interesting thought and I'm bored. -_-
