I got my ram today. It has Mitsubishi chips on it. I'm running a Celeron 566 OC-ed to 900 so I'm only running the bus speed at 106mhz but it's running great at CAS2 at this speed.

Received one of my sticks today, it has IBM chips on it. I know this is getting off-topic, but I figured if anybody was looking for some cheap PC133 memory, they'd at least see what one of the possible chips on the board might be.

About that pricematch thing:
They sent me the same message that pricematch can't be honored, but I sent them another message as a reply to the order confirmation email, warned them that I'll refuse delivery if they won't match new price- they did - there is a $7 credit on my card.
Today received the sticks- seems like I am the last one - Samsung chips, didn't try it yet.

Is anybody elses RAM taking awhile to ship? I ordered mine the 29th (3 days ago), and it still says "Sent to Warehouse".

I ran a serial number check on northern light for this toshiba memory and it's not very overclockable according to these results:

:(

Edited: If I have a 100mhz bus and say overclock it to 133mhz, then does the memory run at 133mhz or jump to a crazy 166mhz????

Got mine today after it being on back order for one day (which scared me, I have heard horror stories about Buy.com and backordered items). Anyway, my chips say Hyundai on them. Since it's going in a 100MHZ system, I'm not overly concerned...but are Hyundai good chips?

i've got kingston PC100 CAS2 stuff. quality memory, infineon modules, at PC100. but then kingston takes those exact same modules and changes the chipset to clock them at PC133 at CAS3. there is no difference between them physically except for the chipset. my crucial 256 PC133 CAS2 stick arrived today and it is running great! invest in quality stuff....

Let's see:
I bought 2 at two different times. Got Infineon (good) on the first, and Samsung (???) on the second. I have heard of people getting Mitsubishi, IBM, Winbond, Hyundai, Toshiba chips on their Kingston Value Ram. Whats next, stuff from Maytag maybe??? ;)

All in all its a good deal.

Something is wrong here. Why would kingston have so many chip manufacturers. This sound f***ed up to me, especially with the low prices on Kinston memory.

When they ask for the UPC, do they just want me to peel off the entire Value RAM sticker from the front fo the package and send it in?

Sorry to bring the thread up again, but I have a question concerning the rebate. When it asks for either the original sales receipt or the packing slip, what exactly does it mean by sales receipt? I don't think I can use the packing slip because it doesn't have the date in which I purchased the RAM. How would they know I bought it before the 31st (exp. date of rebate) if there is no date on the slip? Do I send the paper I printed out from the confirmation screen after I ordered the Ram?

And then for the UPC, how do I know which one to send? I match the number on the UPC with the number on the packing slip for the RAM, right?

wviperw:
I sent in my packing slip from buy.com. It has the purchase date on the packing slip, at least mine did. Also, just cut the UPC code from the front of the ram. Its probably sticky, so just attach it to a piece of blank paper. If you want to be safe you probably could send your e-mail confirmation letter if you like. I don't think they would penalize you for sending extra stuff in, but you never know???

I got my ram and it was mitsubishi. It wouldn't run at 133. Everything went haywire. I dropped my fsb to 100 and it worked. That is pretty crappy. I sent it back to buy.com and put in for a replacement. I'm thinking of just cancelling it and getting some micron.

Received my second stick of memory, it had Toshiba chips on it. Here is what I ran into with the two sticks I ordered:

Stick #1, IBM chips. They sucked. It wouldn't post at 112MHz with SPD on my P2B-D board, but would at 100MHz on my P2B. Changed the memory config from "By SPD" to the CAS3 setting, then it worked.

Stick #2, Toshiba chips. Had the -75 on them, they posted at 112MHz with SPD on my P2B-D. So I kept this stick for myself, and gave the crappy first stick to my mother-in-law, who runs it at PC66 on her FIC 2013.

I'm glad I have good quality Crucial PC133 CAS2 in my CUSL2's!!!

i also got the Toshiba....but am i gonna be mad if it doesn't work at 133!
