Anybody tried the new customer thing with buy.com, using the one-time private payments from Amex?
They do accept Amex, I saw it. They only require new card number and new email address, they don't check household addresses.

So buy.com only checks for new email, new card number, not address. What about person's name? So basically if that's true, you can get a couple of buy.com accounts and get $10 rebate a few times.

Anyone know if the $30 off 150 would have worked multiple times? Like buy something today, get $30 off, then buy something tomorrow with the same account and drop the coupon in the basket again to get $30. I mean, the $30 coupon never said it's only once. Do they check if you've used that coupon once or more or what??
Anyway, too bad it's gone now, hope it comes back.

I'd like to order another stick of ram, but the rebate is one per house hold. If I order another with one of my CC but have it sent to my brother's house, will this work for the rebate? My concern is the receipt will show the billing address in addition to the shipping address and my billing address will be used for my rebate. Will the packing slip invoice show the billing address? I ask since it can be sent instead of the receipt.

With the new comers problem just use another credit card. They track everything by cedit card. Just make another account with new credit card and away you go. I have a few accounts I just keep useing over and over. I love those 30 off 150 all customers.

I got the Winbond chip. Sisoft Sandra said it is PC133 CL3.
But it runs fine at 133@CL2. I am using it with two PC100 ValueRam,
set at 133 2-2-2 in my Asus A7V, with my Duron 700 OC'd at 1 Gig.
OS Win2k.

Hey all,

Just got the 128 pc133 from outpost for $59 (-$20 rebate =$39). I got the Winbond chips so now i am wondering if this ram is any good. The post above says that it is cool and I wont be oc'ing it (will be running at 100mhz) so I will let you guys know if I have any probs with it.

I'm sure that ALL kingston ram is decent stuff...guess we'll find out.

Can anyone help me. I have emachine's emonster 550a with Napoli II motherboard. Emachine's site is suggesting for this time of RAM. Pls see below:
------------------------------
3.3V, unbuffered 168-pin DIMM
PC100 MHz SDRAM
Non-ECC (64bit) Memory
All the above specifications must be met together.
To function properly, SDRAM DIMMs must meet the Intel 4-clock, 66MHz unbuffered SDRAM specification
--------------------------------
My question is

Will this kingston's 128 MB, PC133 or PC100 with CL2 or CL3 work with my system?

Thanks
Theetabond

theetabond,

PC133 memory should be backward compatible with PC100 and PC66 motherboards. The only time when it won't work is when the motherboard or computer manufacturer do something to the motherboard to force it to not work. I've never seen this myself, but someone in the forsale forum asked specifically for pc66 memory because he said his gateway machine would give him an error saying hims memory must be pc66 to work. But then again, his machine was probably pretty old to be running pc66 anyway, so it may not be a problem with newer computers.

About "new customer" deal:

Only card number and email is important, the rest is no checked (my own experience).

About price drop today:
If you are like me and already ordered using yesterday's price, no need to call customer service- go to help online, choose at the bottom of the page "better buyers experience" , choose pricematch, do pricematch to buy.com itself. Once you are done it shows confirmation and tells that you are eligible for pricematch for the first72 hours after the order (so be quick).
or send reply to the order confirmation email, asking for the pricematch, either way - awesome customer service. Good luck.

Buy.com will not price match themselves if you used a coupon. I sent two e-mails to no avail. See the e-mail they sent me yesterday.

Thank you for contacting us at buy.com, the internet superstore. We are
responding to your email regarding order #xxxxxxxxxx.

We apologize for any confusion or misunderstanding in regard to the
pricematch. The 24 hours applies to the period in which buy.com will
approve or deny your pricematch. We regret this pricematch must be
denied; our web site states:

Our Low Price Guarantee does not apply when you use coupons, promotional
offers, or product-bundle pricing on the order.

Please write again if you have any other questions or concerns. We look
forward to serving you in the near future!
