Eh, you're right. I am an idiot. I guess that is what I deserve for benig a conformist arguing with a true individualist. Silly me. From now on, I will buy into the 'be an individual' mentality, and call anyone who doesn't like what I say a conformist. That way, I won't have to think on my own, and I can be an individual.
Now that I have asserted that you are right, here is where part of my opinion about gotsh comes from (even though it is a petty, superficial opinion)
My main experience with goth types was counting the inventory in some goth/counter culture store. Here is what they talked about:
1) I hate ravers.
2) I am sooo deep. I like poetry
3) Did you go to that party, it was cool.
4) There goes a raver, I hate ravers.
5) Do you like my clothes
6) The other day, someone stared at me and I got pissed off. How dare they stare at me. I am allowed to where what I want.
7) I hate ravers, too.
I just found it ironic that there is a chain of stores for people who want to be non-conformist.
I feel pretty much the same way about punk/ska kiddies. I have been to plenty of shows to see these people and hear their conversations. Some are really cool, but a good majority were as shallow as the Gap kiddies they were trying to rebel against.
Remember that you can TRY to be what you want, but do not trick yourself into thinking you are something you aren't.
