Ok heres my problem.. i have an Athlon XP 1700 chip running at what i believe is 58C.. i do have an ASUS mobo though so that number is somewhat off... i would like to possibly overclock sometime soon and i fear that its gonna overheat.. heres my idea though.. right next to me i have my attic. What i was thinking of doing was to do a duct over the cpu and then just run the end of the hose right into the freezing attic. I have seen this done before i was just wondering if anyone on AT knows any more details.. thanks

Sounds cool, but what do you plan on doing in the summer time when your attic gets hotter than hell:)?

Unless you live in alaska or something ... hehe

A good filtering system will do the trick. Although your attic maybe a lot cooler, it is in my opinion, alot dustier, and I'm sure you don"t want to blow all that dust on your processor. So you might want to consider that when you head to the shop to buy your supplies.

yes use a a/c house filter, the kind you can trim with sciscors (sic)
you can use any kind of a fan,use dryer vent hose, aluminum is cheep at home depot,as well as the old vinyl type..
