When I was 3 or 4, I wandered out of our apartment and took off down the street. Several blocks later, the cops picked me up, got me an ice cream and asked me if I knew my way home. I apparently pointed down the street and took lefts and rights for a good ten minutes before the cops realized what a moron I was. Took me to the station where my mother had just called an hour after I left. (long before Amber alerts, much simpler time)

At about 7 or 8, we were visiting family in Tahoe, CA and out their front yard along the road was a Deer Xing sign. I took this to mean Deer Zing! and thought deer would come flying past. my mother corrected me that it was a deer crossing sign. I spent hours out there waiting for the deer to cross. Never did.

I remember in Korea when I was 6, I was sent to get eggs at the store. I was supposed to get 3 dozen eggs for some reason that I can't remember. I think it was a large party. I buy the eggs, run home. And on the last step, I tripped on the edge, and fell forward. The eggs landed hard next to me. This was all in full view of my parents who were looking through the door.

Only 3 eggs survived.

I remember when I was like around 6-7 years old, my cousin and I use to ride our bikes really fast and go up little ramps in the air like whoaaaaa..... Well one time, it was my turn and my idiot cousin decided to ride his bike really fast next to me and we both went off the ramp at the same time and collided. We both fell down and started crying.

Also, I remember one time I was walking home on 5th st. in North Philadelphia, I decided to take a short cut I thought was possible but ended up being a dead end. Mind you, i was still in like 1st-2nd grade and I saw three big black guys walk towards me. One of them looked at my gold necklace my mom gave me and then pulled it off my neck and they all ran away. Good god, at least i didn't get beat up.

Along that same line:

My parents always had a jar they would save their change in. It was only for the all too frequent "rainy days," but one July, when my twin sis and I were 6 or so, we took about $25 in quarters out without asking and rode with our neighbors to the fireworks stand.

The money was noticed missing within a few hours, but most of the fireworks were gone by then, so I wasn't too sad when my dad confiscated the rest. Well, he thought he had them all, but I had stashed a box of M-80's for later. :D

Hmmm... I remember having a hot water drinking contest with my little sister, and getting really sick after about 5 glasses.

When I was 10 or so, I was visiting my cousins in Idaho who were all a year or two older than me. They decided it would be a good idea to run away so we can have an adventure. For some reason, I agreed and we spent the day preparing for our adventure. We carved spears out of wood, packed some food and waited around till midnight when all the adults were asleep before we took off. We went maybe 2-3 miles before it started raining and one of my cousins started crying because he wanted to go home. So we did. Needless to say there were at least two cop cars outside their house... My cousins got their asses beat... I got lucky and only had to write 5000 sentences..... (I think I would rather have taken the beating).

I remember me and my younger sister would sometimes push are palms into our closed eyes so we could see the stars/explosions.... and we would talk to eachother like we were travelling through space...

I was such a lego lovin', micro machine lovin', dork.

Not too long after we moved to Japan when I was a kid, maybe 6-7, I loaded up with change and set out on my bike to buy a bunch of the wacky sodas from the vending machines... then it got dark, and I realized I was completely lost. Fortunately, there were other Americans living in the area, and one of them found me and took me home (I don't remember if I knew our phone number or address or what). That was scary.
I also remember around the same time, walking to school with some older kids, and one of them said something about a "blow job." Somehow I formed the idea in my head that this involved someone blowing your hair dry by blowing on it with their mouth. I didn't understand what the big deal was :p
