There wasn't a need to say anything! they weren't' in a relationship you can't even be dumped if you aren't in a relationship. like i said before had I been in his situation I would have just stopped talking to her altogether.

If you date someone for 6-8 weeks, you owe them a bit more than a quick email if you want to end the relationship, exclusive or not.

Btw,I've always followed the rule that a relationship should end at the same level it had
progressed to ie:if all you've done is IM or email than a simple email ending things is fine,if you've phoned,then a phone call is enough,if you only went out once..just not calling again
is universally understood by all.. but if you've gone out several times,man up,grow a pair and tell the gal face to face that she's a nice person but the chemistry isn't there for you.

Bad concept, even worse implementation. A "formal insult letter" can be funny, but only when its author possesses some semblance of creative writing skills.
