Crazy accident after work

Well it looks like I was finally witness to an accident this afternoon. I had just left work and was driving down a short street connecting two one-way streets. I happened to notice that there were two cars that were very close together going the opposite direction (though this fact never reached my consciousness). As I am passing them I hear a car slamming on their brakes (probably 20-30mph) and a loud crunch. A second later I see the two drivers (both female and about my age) get out of their vehicles. Seeing this I drive around the block to get back on the street.

Here's where it gets interesting.

As I approach the car Girl #1 from the lead vehicle is behind her door talking on the phone. Girl # 2 is doing the same a couple feet behind her. Number 1 is talking to the police, #2 is talking to someone else. After a few seconds Girl #1 says to me (in a kind of urgent yet hushed voice) to "look at her arms." I glance that way and see that she has a little bit of blood on them. A few seconds later girl # 1 asks #2 "what happened to your arms." The girl responds by showing her forearms and saying "I tried to kill myself." Now what I could not see from my angle is that girl # 2 (henceforth refered to as "Crazy") had sliced (near to the bone) both arms about a dozen times, making both look like a set of fish gills.

I told you it was interesting.

At this point I am pondering dialing 911 if the other girl has not already, but she apparently told the police as less than a minute later a police car shows up. Followed by a fire truck. And an ambulance. Crazy is taken away to be looked at/locked up in a mental institution. One of the cops came over and took my statement and I went to leave. Oh, I should also mention that Crazy apalogised somewhere between 100 and 150 times before the police even showed up (so in less than five minutes), giving a good indication that she was on something, has serious phychological issues, or both.

I then proceed to leave. Of course, my truck doesn't start. One good deed, three hours, and a $200 alternator later I am home.

Sorry, no. It is just funny because my dad is a witness to one every two weeks or so (to the point of knowing the cops by name) when he has to drive more than 30 minutes to/from work. At the same time, I have NEVER even seen one before.

Nope. She said she wanted to die. I know nothing at all about her, I just hope she gets some help.

That was AFTER class, an exam, and 5.5 hours of work at five different buildings around the city.

Good for you for stopping.
You never know how many people will lie without a witness even though they know its their fault.

I really considered not stopping simply because it looked like a simple case of a low speed rear-end collission where the person in back is always at fault. It ended up more, but oh well.

So wait, there were two cars, 1 girl to a car. One of them was sucidal.
Right?
Was the suicide attempt before or after the crash?

Was one following the other, trying to help? Or were they strangers to each other, with one just happening to be suicidal?
I'm slightly confused here.

Yup. Before the crash, but shortly before. Nobody knew any of the other people. The crash may have been part of the suicide attempt.
