To sum things up...I turn 23 today (April 30)
I commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Air Force on May 8
Graduate from college with highest honors in history on May 9
Report for duty on June 6

Wow...here comes life smacking me in the face...

Thanks...should be a fun adventure, though it will limit my ATOT posting. Hmm, considering when I joined and my total number of posts, it's not like I post a lot anyways 😉

Are you graduating in history with highest honours or are you graduating with highest honours in history? Pretty big difference, if it's the latter what's your major? 😛

How did you get the commission? Did you go through ROTC or are you going through Basic and OCS over the summer?

<--- thinking about ROTC during undergrad or law school, or just going into JAG after law school.

I won't spout something like that, as it would be B.S. from me, but I will say that you seem like a very determined and successful individual.

My expectations for someone like you are high

Your parents must be soooo proud. I mean not only to be high in your class, but to serve your country so successfully....

jeez..... I am a mom and it would move me to tears of joy, honor and pride to call you my kid.

Good for you. Hug your mom

🙂

Mom is proud 🙂

ROTC from AFROTC Detachment 590, UNC-CH

2nd Lieutenant is the lowest ranking officer, O-1 (rank is a single gold bar)

Graduating with a BA in History. My thesis was awarded highest honors, so I can graduate magna cum laude, or something like that (I'm not sure exactly)

Congratulations!

Congrats, Butterbar. Be prepared to get very little respect (other than the officially required amount) from the enlisted folk 😉

I know that 😉 My Dad is a disabled Vietnam vet who was drafted. He's given me the what and why for new butterbars.
