Any game that the Oregon State Beavers play in, the announcers at least 1 time per game will say something that can be taken another way. Football or Basketball. "He's surrounded by Beavers" "The Beavers attacking the ball" others that some would feel aren't appropriate :)

late.

It's all about CALVIN MURPHY, color analyst for the Houston Rockets. One of the coolest and most hilarious men on the planet.

I remember watching a basketball game a while ago, yes I believe it might have been Mr Walton.

"It's about time that Coach _____ took _______ out the game to give him a blow. "

My favorite Bill Walton joke came from Danny Ainge, occasional color commentator on NBC.

It was a late-season or playoff game featuring the Bulls with MJ, and Jordan had been experiencing lower-back pain. They showed a variety of home remedies fans had sent in to help him, including various herbs, poultices, mushrooms, etc.

Ainge: "That stuff looks like the things Bill Walton was eating back in the '60s, particularly the mushrooms."

Dick Versace and Verne Lundquist doing an NBA playoff game on TNT last year:

"Tonite he's making himself look really big Dick!"

Or, the ultimate Madden: "Don't eat the pipe!"

I don't know if this relates, but I thought it was funny and it does involve sports.

Did any of you watch the NBA Dunk contest a few weekends ago? :D

Did anyone watch the reaction of DIKEMBE MUTUMBO after each dunk?!

A rather "easy" dunk is performed, Mutumbo's reaction =
1) - SPRINGS up from his chair, w/ very large tan suit.
2) - eyebrows pointing up
3) - Mouth wide open
4) - 1 hand on top of his head
5) - Holds up the big 10 about 11 feet in the air
- seems like this was the only number he had :D

This action is repeated almost 25 times during the hours of the dunk contest.

-btw mutumbo is the man. (my center in fantasy) :)

This is a Kevin Harlan classic that they used to play all the time on my local Sports Talk station...(not exact, but you'll get the gist).

"[The Coach] looks to the end of the bench. Looks to the heavens and thanks god he's got Wood!"

Utah Jazz playoff game vs. Houston that sent the Jazz to their first Final's appearance. A Bill Walton classic. Only a few seconds left in the game. The score is either tied or the Jazz were down by a couple...I can't remember. Jazz inbound at half-court to John Stockton. Couple dribbles to the 3-point line and lets it fly. *SWISH* Jazz go to the finals!

Bill Walton's comment as the ball is inbounded to John????.... and I quote: "Uh-Oh!" :D

Local Jazz play by play announcer Hot-Rod Hunley, a pupil of Chick Hearns..."A gentle push, a mild arc, and the cowhide globe hits home!"

Marv Albert, who is obviously no stranger to this, says: "Coach Tomjanovich takes him out for a blow. He should be fine in a few minutes."

In and of itself, the most amusing sports commentary is on professional bowling:

"Bob, what do you think his strategy is here?"
"Um, Jim, I think he's probably going to try to knock down the pins."

I actually heard a guy say the first one, I just added the second because it's the only thing that makes sense. My wife and I stopped surfing to watch a bit of that because we were both just floored that there are actually professional bowlers. ;)
