Crashing in game

I'm not really running anything too intense on my new system. So far I can't make it through the Prince of Persia: Warrior Within introduction movie nor can I make past the Empire Earth II introduction movie. If I escape out PoP runs okay but Empire Earth crashes and intermitent times. Other games like Civilization III and C&C Generals run fine and rather fast. Edit: Typically when I crash the audio studders and I lose video (monitor goes on standby) and the only way out is to hit reset.

I'm fairly convienced it has to do with my video card or MoBo (which would suck). I know it isn't RAM because to OCZ DIMM I got was bad so I thoroughly checked the "quick fix" PNY's. Anywho below are my specs, any advice?

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (Not OC'ed *CPU temp isn't going past 32C)
2x512 mb of PNY PC3200 DDR RAM
DFI Lanparty nF4 Ultra-D MoBo
WinFast PX6600 GT video card
Seagate Barracuda 120gb SATA HD
Plextor DVD+/-RW SATA
Using onboard audio from my DFI
500 Watt BlueStorm PSU

The only possible problem I can see is that for some reason the USB controller isn't recognizing the MoBo USB controller. But the only drivers I can find from DFI are for Win98.

Anywho, I know the system is an uber system but it should handle Empire Earth 2 with no problems.

After further review it appears that my problem was related to my computer name and the NIC. I had two systems with the same name on my network and both were attempting to get the same IP address. So after changing my computer name and re-installing my NIC drivers life is good.

Now my DVD burner locks up the system when trying to burn.
