My neighborhood has a ton of wild cats and you will see them constantly on the side of the road dead. It doesn't help that many people drive 60mph+ down the 15 mph streets...especially to the middle school around the block.
The previous owner had outdoor cats so many in the neighborhood will sleep in our yard. We fed a few last night.
This morning one of them was just laying in the lower part of my driveway....looking like it was just asleep. When I got up to it I could see a small pool of blood from it's mouth/nose.
They were still warm, but dead...no pulse and pupils fixed/dilated. It's brother must have been trying to let us know as it was sort of freaking out near our back doors in the back about an hour or so earlier...we thought it was just our cats and the other one playing.
Could have been hit, could have been poisoned/ate a poisoned rodent/food...it was only about 6 months old tops.
Hopefully animal control will pick it up sooner than later, they said it's on their list for today now.
