Is it generally safe to use this? I regularly use this to clean my computer out, but I've never used the registry cleaner.

Will it do anything bad to my computer?

i've never had a problem, i always back a backup of the registry just in case
also system restore could undo any damage

CCleaner's registry cleanup works just fine, never had any issues with it on the many systems that I used it on (98, 2000, XP, 2003 & Vista). CCleaner prompts you if you want to backup the registry before performing the final registry cleanup step.

I've never had a problem with CCleaner, and it seems to speed up my system (instantaneous snappiness), especially Microsoft authored programs.
