I'm finishing up my second year of CS at UCR this week.

I'm starting to despise CS and i don't know if i want to continue in this major, and hell if I know what else I would want to do. Crap, anybody been here and has advice for me? Two years 🙁 🙁 thx.

seems a common ailment in computer science. you need to get yourself a plan to go to MBA school a couple-three years out of college, then you won't have to be a code monkey for a living.

Do you have an academic advisor? It might be good to go and see him/her. A great many students feel this way about half way through whatever program they are in. It's good to talk with someone involved with your major at your school who has seen this before and has a non student perspective. There may be options for you that you havent thought of, and in any case talking to a real person helps.

I'd feel the same way if I was in your position. I think it should be mandatory for students to take a year off before getting a post secondary education. Getting out on your own, working full time.. gives you a lot of perspective. I couldn't see myself going to College/University even after I finished my OACs (grade 13). I just wasn't ready. Now, things are a little different. 🙂

Maybe its just too much too soon.
Take a year off.
When you come back, you'll want to follow through with CS and realize how good you'll have it later on (hopefully).
