It's the top edge of the cpu's PCB. I'm perplexed how anyone can have scratched it like that trying to unclip it, unless he was using a Phillips or Robertson screwdriver instead of a standard flathead. That part of the cpu is usually covered by the heatsink leaving a small gap only accessible horizontaly!

Aww man, it will prob. work. CPU's are VERY resilient, like the Russian Army in WWII. When I opened up my new P4c 2.4Ghz retail CPU last June, I applied Sooo much force to get through the plastic box that the CPU was in, and because of this the CPU flew into the air. It landed on my hardwood floors after dropping 4 feet or so. I think the only problem I had was 1 bent pin.

But I put it in my IC7 and she fired up just fine.

:QExactly MAN!!!:Q I nearly had a heart attack, but I couldn't wait for a few days till I was able to put it all together. That ceramic epoxy that the real CPU core is in, is some pretty resilient stuff.
