Crap PC, awesome case

(only because this website has some decent pics; the dell website has one pic only)

Alienware Andromeda X51.

Gotta hand it to those AW guys, they sure know how to make a good looking PC.
Small(~ish) form factor, horrid specs, huge price.

Decent case.

..wonder where they got it from ...

That PC isnt horrid at all, its just way overpriced. I think the case is ugly personally.

alienware is for retards who dont know how to build computers.

Only retards sling personal attacks on the AT tech forums

1G for nVIDIA GeForce GT 545 and no SSD. Lulz. I never got the appeal of their cases either. My all time favorite case was the Cheiftec towers.

the look of the case could use some work but i hope fractal rips them off for the layout.

Yeah.

Not even decent. A 545? Come on. That's some bullshit

Maybe im missing somthing, this is a computer that isnt designed for running the highest end games. That video card will do ANYTHINg that is required of it, given the way people will be using this particular model. 545 isnt a bad card, just not a GTX 680.

545=bad card
also, its one grand for some crap
545= >$100
seriously? come on!

overpriced like all pre builts, but it wouldn't be no damn $400 if you build it yourself lol. I priced everything on newegg, except the slot loading bluray which they don't carry. Dell's price isn't horrible. You're probably not going to build this for less than $800 unless you hunt down each component hoping to find rebates. With newegg + the drive elsewhere I came to about $840, and that doesn't include tax or shipping.

cheaper than the 1K

Alienware have become the Apple of Windows-based PCs; Style over substance. They *do* however have style, their PCs and laptops look the business.

---------------------------------------------------------

The world is full of people who make a grand A DAY.
Not everyone ofc, but there are enough of them that a whole industry exists just to cater to their whims.

If i work all day i make £50. I can still spend it all on something i want and call it a day. They do the same and when you're working in an office environment - where people will judge you on looks more than anything else - having the coolest gadgets can actually be a sound investment.

----------------------------------------------------

Still, at least they could have gone for a 560. or a 7850. Something decent

cheaper than the 1K

Duh.

But nobody said it wouldn't be. All they SAID was that it was not a $400 machine with a $1000 price tag.

Like with just about EVERY MACHINE OUT THERE, you pay a few hundred for someone else to put it together and someone else to call when it stops working (as opposed to, say, your "friend" that put together your first OC'd monster way-back-when).

I would build my own, and have. But I can see how this would be attractive to some.

Yep, if I built it myself using parts from Newegg it would cost me $955 shipped. And I'd still have to put everything together and install Windows, which would take me probably a solid 1.5 hours. if I shopped around I could probably get that down to $900 shipped, cheaper than 1k, but dell's asking price definitely isn't anything close to what I'd consider outrageous.
