I can't believe i did this. She doesn't have another set, so does anyone know of a way to make another key for the car?

A locksmith can make a key from the ignition, but there is probably a code somewhere you can read & get a manufacturer's replacement.

MAY be trouble depending on the car. My Passat uses a key like the Mercedes in "Gone in 60 seconds" . If it is something like that, you HAVE to go through the dealer.

You can go to a dealer and if you prove you're the owner, they can sell you a spare key. It might take a while to get there though.

I know for the car I just bought, I can call the dealer up, give them the VIN and/or a code they gave me and they can get me another set of keys...but I have no idea if it is that way for other makes/years

You can go to any dealer of the same make with the VIN and proof of ownership and they usually can cut you a key on the spot. If you have one of those fancy keys with a chip in them, it may take a day or two.
