I'm a very stingy guy except for going out.... but I guess it's bit going out of hand.

I don't buy CDs.
I don't buy DVDs.
I don't buy books, I use library.
I don't drink Latte or coffee everyday.
I don't own any videgame consoles nor do I spend $$ of games.
I have basic cable TV that I spend $8 a month on.
so on....

Except when I go out to eat or drink- drinks are like $8-10 a pop. I must.. stop this.... This month's CC bill came out to be $1200. FYI they were around $500-600 when I first moved out.

75% of my costs are from going out.

Bear in mind I use CC for everything in order to maximize my cashback- includes gas, groceries, eating out, everything.

That seems steep, but like you said, if you use it for everything....how do we know how much of the $1200 was spent going out and not on other, more necessary things?

What is your point babe? ;)

I get plastered at the pub/club at least twice weekly, and there's no wai i spend quite that much, but then i tend to drink beer, and go rounds with my mates...unless i'm rly drunk & we're doing shots ;)

For a month or so, I'd try tracking your expenses by line-item: track them in an excel spreadsheet by item, not whole transaction, and separate all your purchases into categories like "Food - Eating Out." I've been doing this for six months now and it's made me so much more aware of what I spend before I spend it, it's kind of crazy. BUT, it also helps me to see how expensive regular life can be.

Heh there was a time when I was running $100-200 tabs every time I went out. Now I stick to the specials, and I'll spend $15-20.

Pregame FTW.

I used to go out up to 5nights a week, and my monthly alcohol budget was only around $500.

Cut down on eating out, that makes a huge difference.

WTF, why are you getting $10 drinks? I go to some pretty classy places, but the drinks are never more than $6.

Buying quadruple shots or something?

Where the hell do you live? Bratislava? Around here liquor drinks costs 5.50+ So, most LIKELY two drinks would put you at over 10 dollars. And, many drinks will cost 8 or 9 bucks.

Drinking out is only expensive if you drink a lot. If you're hitting up happy hour or dive bars you can get by cheap.

Meh, going out is overrated. I like to just surf the nets/watch some tv with a glass in my hand. And guess what's in that glass.

That's right. Premium whiskey and ice :D.

I know what you're saying. I never really purchase anything like the things you listed, but I do go to the pub about 5 nights out of the week. Get's expensive. I don't use a CC though (I don't even have one).
