I live in Wisconsin, and yes I did take drivers ed.

Im not trying to undermine my punishment, but the situation wasn't nearly like what you guys make it out to be. I wasnt trying to impress my sister's friends (who I actually don't like at all), and I wasnt zooming down the road. Everyone on the road was driving 50ish, and by just switching lanes going 52 with a car load of people "set off" the cop (or so he told me). And like I said before, I'm not looking to blame anyone, I know I fvcked up, and I just needed to talk about my dumb ass decision(s).

Driving restrictions are extremely lame. Especialy the rule about only being with 1 non family member at a time in the car. This basically puts more inexperienced drivers on the road at one time than ever before. Carpool? Forget about it. Each person has to get in their own driving death hammer and go for a spin. Sounds counterproductive to me.

Regardless. The laws exist. You were doing 10+ the speed limit (where I come from you can forget about a warning for this alone) and you were breaking the passenger limit. So you are going to have to eat it. Be a man and don't shift the blame to others. You screwed up, you pay. That's just how it works.

I think graduated licensing is ok, but restrictions like that are counter-productive. If they would just raise the driving age to 18 already, these problems would cease to exist.

I'd like you to explain how having a bunch of inexperienced 16 and 17 year old drivers on the road is worse than having a bunch of inexperienced 18 year old drivers on the road. Yeah, 18 year olds are better drivers, they've been doing it for 2 years....If we raise it to 18 people will say "well gee, 21 year olds are much better."

How do you want me to explain? Countries that have a higher driving age and more driver education have higher speed limits and less fatalities and accidents. It is hard to argue with the facts. Graduated licensing here in the states has also proven to lower accidents and fatalities among teens by a significant amount. No, I seriously doubt anyone wants to raise the driving age to 21. 18 to drive and 18 to drink is the perfect balance as far as I am concerned. Numerous other places do the same and it is beneficial. I am assume(well I know) that you are under 18. That is the only reason that you can laugh in the face of what studies and other country's' programs have proven.

You will be singing a different tune in a few years.

In most states there are certain point values assessed to tickets. Lets say speeding is two points, and reckless driving is 6. After a certain number of points your license can be suspended or revoked. Many insurance companies also use point system to determine your risk and thus your premium.

dude, no one had a gun to your head. it was your choice to drive those girls. you should consider yourself very lucky you didn't get a ticket for speeding.

Fight it...just take it to court, the DA will mostl likely give you less points, reduce the fine or whatever...

I find when ever I get a ticket, just take it to court, you almost always will get a reduced penalty.

You were breaking the law.

You rightfully got ticketed.

Don't act so wronged here. You knew what you were doing was illegal, you got caught, you got a ticket. You deserved it. Deal with it. Denying or arguing against reality won't change any of this.
