craigslist question

I have a new item that I listed that is sealed, and the interested party wants to open it before they buy. Unfortunately, the value of the item would decrease if the item is opened. I understand the apprehension that the buyer has, she might think she is going to open it up and get a rock or something.

What is the best way to handle this?

Why does the buyer want to open the package? Make a deal with her so that she agrees to buy the item after it is verified by opening it. In other words, refund only if there are rocks/fake stuff inside.

so what if she, for some reason, changes her mind, and decides not to pay? Is that just the risk I take?

No, you keep the money and tell her to fvck off.
